Volunteers are needed for a research study on pregnancy and disability thuis study is being conducted by the University of Virginia, the University of Montana, and the University of Missouri with IRB approval from the University of Virginia (IRB SBS 2016005300).  The study is funded by the National Institutes of Health.

This study involves one telephone interview, which will take 60-75 minutes.

You may be eligible if you:

ØAre a woman between 18 and 44  years of age AND

ØHave a disability or are deaf or hard-of-hearing AND

ØHave had an unplanned pregnancy

Participants will receive $30 for their time.

WOWii – Workout on Wheels Internet Intervention at Baylor Scott & White Research Institute

Participants must:

· Be between 18 and 70 years old

· Be at least 6 months post-injury at C5 level or below and use a wheelchair

· Have access to a computer with internet access

We want your input. If you’ve had a spinal cord injury, try our physical activity website and share your thoughts on our design!

Researchers are looking for 10 people with spinal cord injury (SCI) to take part in a five-week, online physical activity program.

Subjects will attend weekly meetings online and try exercises at-home. Researchers are looking for feedback on how easy the program is to use. Subjects will be compensated for their time.

The Collaborative on Health Reform and Independent Living (CHRIL) wants to know about your experience with health insurance and/or Medicaid and Medicare

University of Kansas Research Survey on Medicare/Medicaid or Health Insurance for People with Disabilities

CHRIL, is a new 5-year research study funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR). The CHRIL brings together disability advocates and researchers to study how the Affordable Care Act (ACA) affects working-age adults with disabilities.

Part of CHRIL's research includes interviewing 20-25 adults with disabilities from various backgrounds and locations about their experiences using and getting health insurance and/or Medicaid and Medicare. We hope YOU can help us with this effort!

CHRIL staff from the University of Kansas will be doing these one-on-one interviews by phone in the coming months. Each phone interview will last about 30-45 minutes. People who complete these phone interviews will each receive a $40 gift card. No risks to participants are anticipated with this study. Benefits include the opportunity to inform health care policy for all people with disabilities.

Next year we will also be conducting an online survey. Please use the link below to let us know if you are interested in doing an interview this Summer/Fall or a survey later on.

Transportation Access and Experiences Survey in English and Spanish

We would like to invite you to participate in a national survey titled, Transportation Access and Experiences, which is designed to improve understanding of accessibility of public transportation for people with disabilities. This survey is being conducted by the ADA Participation Action Research Consortium (ADA-PARC), a collaborative research project of ADA Regional Centers (PIs: Lex Frieden and Joy Hammel). This project focuses on community living, community participation & work/economic participation disparities of people with disabilities (For more information, visit the website: We would like to improve our understanding on transportation access of people with disabilities and use this information to make improvements at regional and national levels.

We are very interested in receiving as many responses as possible from people with disabilities based on their personal experiences with public transportation. The results will serve as crucial evidence to support improvements to accessible transportation.
