CinemAbility: the Art of Inclusion goes worldwide!

We are thrilled to announce that CinemAbility has  been selected by the U.S. State Department as one of the films representing America this year. The American Film Showcase brings award-winning contemporary American documentaries, feature films and animated shorts to audiences around the world, offering a view of American society and culture as seen by independent filmmakers. Funded by a grant from the State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, the Showcase highlights the value of film in fostering understanding and cooperation, dialogue and debate. Through the American Film Showcase, U.S. Embassies in 40 countries organize film screenings, discussions and workshops.

Writers Guild of America

The Writers Guild of America West’s Writers with Disabilities Committee presents its fifth-annual Disability Scene event an evening of disability-themed scenes written for the event or pulled from screenplays, teleplays, webisodes, and stage plays submitted by Guild members, both disabled and non-disabled. The scenes were directed by Jenni Gold and Gary Goldstein, cast by David Zimmerman and performed live on zoom.

This virtual event was recorded on September 24, 2020.

The Blackmagic Collective

Moderator Shannon DeVito invited Jenni Gold and Day Al-Mohamed to be panelist on a special Blackmagic Collective virtual event. It was a lively nationwide discussion about documentary storytelling and filmmakers with disabilities. We’d like to thank the Blackmagic Collective, Blackmagic Design and Sigma for their participation in important and inclusive discussions.
