Celebrate the ADA 30th Anniversary with Texas on Friday, July 24!
This July marks the 30th anniversary of the ADA! To celebrate this milestone, a series of ADA-themed virtual workshops will be held throughout the month. The series, ADA 30: Moving Forward, is coordinated by a group of over 20 Texas-based organizations, including the Texas Department of Transportation.
Participants will learn from experts and community leaders about various topics, such as ADA transition plans for receipients of federal funding, adaptive recreation opportunities, and innovations in accessible transportation.
Moving ADA Forward in Texas: 1990 - 2020
The primary celebration of the ADA 30th anniversary will be held on Friday, July 24, at 10 AM. The celebration will feature notable disability advocates sharing their experiences and highlighting the enactment of the ADA, the national efforts to further the civil rights of Americans with disabilities, the Lone Star State’s recent achievements with moving ADA forward, and the challenges to overcome in the future.
