A Survey to Determine the Needs and Priorities of Texans with Disabilities

Publication Date:
Oct 16 2018

If you are interested in improving Independent Living (IL) services for yourself, family members, or others in your community, please take a moment to contribute your feedback or share with others!

A workgroup of consumers, service providers, and advocates have carefully designed a survey to determine the needs and priorities of Texans with disabilities. This is part of a larger initiative to spread awareness and accessibility of Independent Living services across the state. The survey seeks to identify groups - geographic, racial/ethnic, disability type, or other minority groups - that are lacking services that help them live independently in their community. Please share this survey with anyone who is interested in improving Independent Living Programs and Services. They survey will be open until Spring of 2019.

Data collected through this survey will help us understand why certain populations are lacking IL services, which groups to target, and where the IL community would like to see improvements. The responses we collect will help us put together an outreach plan to address these issues in the upcoming State Plan for Independent Living.

We have both English and Spanish versions available in print and online. I've also attached the large print versions. If you need a version with a different accommodation need, please contact me!
