Members Sought for the IDD System Redesign Advisory Committee

If you’re interested in the issues surrounding Intellectual and Developmental Disability System Redesign, you might want to apply to be a member of the Intellectual and Developmental Disability System Redesign Advisory Committee. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission executive commissioner is looking for committee members. Those selected will be appointed to the committee to serve a term expiring Dec. 31, 2022, unless otherwise noted. Applications are due by 11:59 p.m., April 29.

HHSC will consider the applicants' qualifications, background and interest in serving on the committee and will try to choose committee members who represent the diversity of all Texans. For this reason, HHSC considers applicants' ethnicity, gender and geographic location.

An Intellectual and Developmental Disability System Redesign Advisory Committee member must regularly participate in committee meetings and in other meetings as needed. Committee meetings will be held about once every three to four months in Austin or at the call of the presiding officer. A committee member, who is a client or family member of a client may be repaid for travel expenses if money is available and in accordance with the HHS Travel Policy. Other committee members aren’t paid to attend or travel to and from committee meetings.
