The Disability Integration Act (DIA) is civil rights legislation, introduced by Senator Schumer to address the fundamental issue that people who need Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS) are forced into institutions and losing their basic civil rights.
Dallas - The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) today announced that the Dallas Public Library is among 30 finalists for the 2016 National Medal for Museum and Library Services, the nation’s highest honor given to museums and libraries for community service.
“We are honored to be one of the finalists for this award,” said Dallas Public Library Director Jo Giudice. “As a public library, we are committed to providing high-quality services to all members of the community, including people experiencing homelessness.”

September is Suicide Prevention Month, and this week's WAM featured a Statement of Solidarity from Not Dead Yet that NCIL has signed on to. We hope that CILs will sign on individually as well, so that we can generate a large list of those who stand in solidarity with the values of suicide prevention.
