The Texas Advisory Committee to the US Commission on Civil Rights
will be hosting a meeting on voter rights on
Tuesday, March 13, 9am-5pm at the
University of Houston Law Center in Krost Hall,
4604 Calhoun Rd. Houston, TX 77204.
This is a public meeting to hear testimony regarding potential barriers to voting that may have a disparate impact on voters on the basis of race, color, national origin, disability status, or religion in the areas of voter registration, access to polling locations, and language access. I think this is a GREAT opportunity to raise awareness about the voting struggles experience by the disability community!!
We need to fill this place up with self-advocates, allies, family members, etc.
Sponsored by the US Commission on Civil Rights, Western Regional Office, 1-213-894-3437
