American Council of the Blind of Texas Scholarships
The American Council of the Blind of Texas awards scholarships on an annual basis to deserving students who will be entering college, currently attending a college, university, or enrolled in a trade school or technical program. ACBT scholarship applications will be available March 1 – July 7, 2017. Qualified students must be Texas residents. A completed application and all required supporting documentation must be received by the deadline indicated. Application packets may be obtained from the following sources:
Decisions will be made and recipients will be notified by August 11, 2017. ACBT encourages all scholarship recipients attend the 2017 ACBT Conference/Convention in Dallas to be recognized for their academic achievement. Scholarship recipients will be presented their scholarships during the Awards Breakfast on September 17th.

Blind students in Texas are also eligible to apply for AFB’s national scholarship program. AFB is currently accepting applications. The deadline for applying is February 15, 2017. Students can find the application at: http://www.acb.org/scholarship-application. For additional information, contact:

National Federation of the Blind of Texas Scholarships
The National Federation of the Blind of Texas (NFBT) will begin accepting applications for its 2017 scholarship program on June 1, 2017. The deadline for applications is August 15, 2017. Any legally blind resident of Texas who plans to attend college, on a full time basis, in the fall of 2017 is eligible to apply. Applications will be available at https://www.nfbtx.org.
