COVID-19 and the Financial Impact on Disability:
How can you help?

National Disability Institute (NDI) understands the current and long-term impact that COVID-19 will have on the financial and personal health of people with disabilities and chronic health conditions, their families and communities.

In response to these needs, NDI created the Financial Resilience Center (FRC). The FRC answers frequently asked questions about COVID-19 Economic Impact Payments; Employment and Unemployment; Public Benefits; Housing, Food, and Healthcare; Money Management; Scams; and more. Additionally, the FRC offers referrals for virtual financial counseling through AFCPE, and an online financial wellness training from LifeCents. These resources are all offered at no cost!

You can help us spread the word about these resources by visiting the FRC and utilizing our Outreach Toolkit

Some ways to help:

  1. Download one of our logos and link to the Financial Resilience Center (financialresiliencecenter.org) on your website or emails.
  2. Use our pre-written news brief as content in your newsletters, blog, etc.
  3. Share our short introduction video on your social media.
  4. Insert one of our PowerPoint promotion slides into your upcoming presentations or webinars.
  5. Sign-up for updates and check back frequently for new additions to the FRC website.
  6. Contact us about any relevant COVID-19 resources you have created so that we can add them to the FRC and share your good work.

Additionally, you can submit your tips, stories or resources for navigating financially through the COVID-19 pandemic, and we’ll highlight them in our newsletter and website.
