From the Editor (continued from page 1)

These articles are to help offset the biased human interest stories the media loves to write portraying people with disabilities as victims, heroes or villains. These stories show the ordinary lives of people and common events that we are a part of. And the biased view - well, that's the real life view of our writers with disabilities. Not the non-disabled view of how we think and feel. So read, enjoy, and of course - blog about your opinions and interests as readers with disabilities. We look forward to your feedback!

Possible Dangers on Para-Transit (continued from page 5 & 6)

Through reporting these incidents hopefully we can make sure they learn. Hopefully it will improve public transportation for everyone. I don't mean that we need to rally against public transportation. We just need to, in my opinion, hold them accountable when they don't follow proper procedure.

I told a representative that from now on anytime I don't feel safe and the driver fails to make sure I was secure that I would insist to be let off the bus immediately. I would call in and report it right then and insist that they send another bus to pick me up. Some think I'm a little on the radical side. I'm not saying do as I do but there's nothing wrong with calling and reporting things. As I said before. It's our responsibility. It's what will ultimately improve these services for all PWD' that use services.
